The Awareness Project

1 in 5 children have a learning disability. But because learning disabilities cannot be seen they go undetected most of the time. Many parents think their children will grow out of their learning difficulty, and many teachers rule it out as laziness. The lack of diagnoses is directly correlated to the lack of knowledge. We need to start educating the world. starting with the youth of our generation and their parents. This is the goal of the awareness project. By utilizing the sisterhood the Miss Florida Organization gave me, I have been able to spread awareness across Florida. I have mailed out 51 of my books to Miss Florida and Miss Florida's Outstanding Teen local titleholders. Each titleholder represents a different city in Florida. All the girls are individually reading and donating my books across Florida and raising awareness for Dyslexia and ADHD to students and parents.
